I was witness to Natan's and Sid's "incident from directly behind.
I had been following Natan for several laps after my dumb mistake early on where I caused Andy to take to the grass to avoid m e after catching the Kerb at Abbey.
I had slowly reeled in Natan and his BRM as he was in turn closing on the car in front of him (Sid). Although I was slightly quicker an a lap time basis I could see that it would be difficult to make a clean pass against the extra grunt of Natan's BRM.
Once or twice there was a half chance as he made small mistakes but nothing that I could nail with certainty.
So we arrived on Sid's tail....with me hounding Natan and looking for an opening

I have to confess that I stood back in amazement as Natan appeared to launch himself through the inside line onto Hangar Straight.
Yes, he was closing on Sid quickly at that point, but there was never going to be room to get through cleanly and no way at that speed that he could possibly hold a tight enough inside line.
The result was a tangle of BRM's and an immediate solution to my dilemma of how to pass two BRM's in an underpowered BT7.
Natan is undoubtedly quick but it seems that the red mist descends and all caution is thrown to the wind. If he had thought about the pass he would have been better to hesitate for a second approaching Hangar Straight.... then carry more speed through the corner.. and nail Sid with the help of the tow down into Stowe corner.
That way, both would have continued racing without incident AND he would have put a car between me and him, as I doubt that I could have followed him through before Stowe.
It did me a big favour, but not Sid ( or for that matter Natan!!??) by removing two fast cars and leaving me with 4th place and a clear track to chase after Will ( but that failed because he was too far in front

).
